What happened last week...

I finally got my license! Go me!

While watching Veronica Mars, I finally decided that I will declare my undying love for Piz. If only for that dance that he did. I am so happy we got out jackass-Logan back, if only for a scene.

I ran into Trish at the CoHo while getting dinner. Some rather interesting topics of conversation came up. Laughing while trying to eat are never a good combo. I really should learn my lesson.

I yet again reaffirmed how much of a bio geek I am. And, rediscovered my disapppointment when people don't get the nerdy bio jokes. I mean, really now people!

I spent a lot of time with my family this weekend. We went to Denios, had a movie night, and watched football together. It probably would have been very Norman Rockwell were it not for the actual components of my family. I guess this is the new Norman Rockwell.

This week's song recs are:

The Masterplan by Oasis
Juice by GMS by GMS (yes it's actually part of the name)
The Way I Live by Simian
SIn by Android Lust
Twist by Goldfrapp
Icraus by Amen Birdmen

Sunday was kind of a family day. We didn't go out since the last race of the season was on. I got to hear dad gloat the rest of the day. hehehe. We went out to Olive Garden for dinner. It was a nice dinner, but the experience wasn't too great for me. Can someone tell me again why we have Lorena around still? I didn't get to finish my last glass of wine at dinner and still wanted some, so I sat down to watch football with my dad and have a nice glass of wine...or two. hehe. Needless to say I was out early, but had a really nice sleep.

Monday and Tuesday were a educational blur for me. I stayed up ridiculously late on Monday to study for a midterm on Tuesday. Then I had to trudge through Tuesday because I had an assignment that needed to be done for that day. This procrastination is getting a little ridiculous. hehe. The caffeine was sustaining me that day.

Wednesday was nice because I got to go home earlier than usual. And I got to watch Adam Baldwin on Day Break. I'm so loving this show because of him.

Thanksgiving was a delightful and non-eventful day. There were some times during the day when I thought we'd be bogged down in family tension and fighting but we didn't.

What was not cool about Thanksgiving was all the dishes I had to clean the next day. Goodness! We use more silverware and plates on that day than any other day. And let me tell you, it takes a nice chunck of time to clean.

And here we are for today. I don't think we'll be doing anything today. Or we might. Someone might have told me something earlier this week and I just can't remember.

Song recs for the week:
Dirty Harry by Gorillaz
Tank! by The Seatbelts (Luke Vibert Remix)
Still by Foo Fighters
The Falling Kind by Veda
High School by Jeremy Fisher
This Town's Religion by The Delays

This week was kind of a blur for me. I had a couple exams and a debate to write which meant that I spent a lot of time awake. It got really bad that toward the end of the week I couldn't remember what day it was. I know what classes I go to that day, but not exactly what day of the week. Some rest was in order by the middle of the week. A lot of sleep!

Now that I think about it, I don't even remember anything worth really mentioning. My brain was wiped by this weekend, I couldn't really remember the rest of the week except the highlights. hehe.

It's Sunday morning and I don't want to teach today's Sunday school lesson. It's about "Good Touch, Bad Touch." How am I qualified to teach this? Did anyone ask if I really wanted to? No! *sigh* I'm just really dreading this. I passed the idea by one of the other teachers to combine classes. I hope she goes for it. I really do. I'll be floundering if she doesn't. hehehe.

The weeks song recs:

Tina Dico - Nobody's Man
Roisin Murphy - Ramalama (Bang Bang)
The Hives - B is for Brutus
10 Years - Wasteland
Smashing Pumpkins - Bullet with Butterfly Wings
Shinedown - Fly From the Inside

I have been both lazy and busy. When I'm not busy studying or commuting I'm too lazy to really do much, so I don't. Plus, my weekly post last week was hindered because LJ was being stinky. But now it's not. So time to get caught up...

My sister has been the cause of much stress in the past couple weeks. She goes out almost every night and cares nothing about the effect she has on everyone in this house. I've tried talking calmly, I've tried threats, I've tried yelling. I've accomplished nothing. She frustrates me.

I'm going to soon hit the bratty girl in my Sunday school class. I know it's not Christian, but you haven't met her! Patience is one of the things I thought I had a lot of, apparently I don't.

I saw a nice human version of pac man in the quad the other week. Someone had a cut out of pac man and other people were dressed as the ghosts. It made for entertaining lunch.

My hair has been causing me issues. I thought about growing it long because I wanted to go for a "look." I've since decided that look isn't me and it's getting cut. Now I just have to wait for it to grow out long enough to cut it.

I completely appreciate the universe when I find people that are dorks like I am. I've found two such people in my genetics and society class. 2 out of 4 teachers are dorky in their own right. I shouldn't have expected less considering they are science teachers. There probably needs to be a level of dorkiness for someone to fully appreciate the sciences.

There was an entertaining discussion about wheeling around Buddy Christ in the MU to show people that the Catholic group on campus holds mass one day of the week. They weren't really serious, but just the thought makes me laugh.

I went out last weekend to a Baptismal party. It was entertaining enough in the beginning. You have to fully appreciate the awful dancing that was there and the craptastic music. But the novelty soon wore off and I was bored out of my mind the rest of the time. I was a losery loser basically sitting by myself at the end of the table. Fun times.

Late night phone calls from my friend, no matter how much I love him, are not fun. All I wanted to do was sleep and enjoy sleeping in the next day. Sadly, that was not to be. Very early morning/Late night phone calls kind of interrupt that attempt at sleep. ewww.

Now it is on to studying for the coming weeks midterms. Joy, I can't wait to start.

This week was filled with lots of studying. The first round of midterms started the Wednesday before and ended this past Tuesday. When I went into them I was scared that I didn't study enough. The late night cram sessions I dedicated to each test really wasn't enough. When I came out of them I was actually decently confident I didn't fail it with flying colors. Now, not so much. I just want to do well. That'll teach me to not procrastinate, especially at Davis.

Things I saw at Davis this week:
A "parade" cars going through campus in various primary colors of tissue paper. Along with the obligatory "questionable foliage" on the green car.
A guy with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle backpack.
The croquet people back in the quad to play a game.
The frisbee people interrupting the croquet people's game. hehehe.

Lots of napping has been done this week in the quad, even more so than before, because I've been so tired from the study sessions. One day while I tried to nap some people decided it'd be a good day to start a small game of soccer near me. Thanks a lot there. Then right next to them some people decided to throw the frisbee back and forth. Even better. Oh! and then let's throw said frisbee over the girl that's trying to nap. I'm sure she doesn't mind. grrrr. There went my nap. I was so looking foward to it too.

The people at the Tex-Mex counter are highly entertaining. They have this slightly-off-kilter-i-need-more-sleep-but-don't-have-time thing going. When I got to the MU they were listening to Michael Jackson songs. While I waited for my food I was amused by various people singing to the songs and one guy even doing the thriller dance in between making burritos. hehehe.

Venus, our dog, had her puppies this week. They are so adorable! *squee*

I had this thought about growing out my hair longer, maybe to my shoulders. Then that idea was squashed. I like short hair, so short hair it will be! I just have to wait the month for the hair cut chick to come back so she can cut my hair. ugh.

And now I finish with the week's song recs:
The Knack - My Sharona
Beck - Girl
The Outline - Shotgun
The Dandy Warhols - Bohemian Like You
Econoline Crush - Sparkle and Shine

zip to multiple music goodness.

This is what has been happening to me this past week...

I've noticed people leering at me when they drive by as I sit at the bus stop in West Sac. Kind of gives me the whillies and want to pull out the mace. What does make it entertaining though are those few people who cheese and then wave hi. hehehe. I get a kick out of it and it kind of makes me forget about the leering people.

The weather this week has been all over the place. There are days when I think that I should be putting away the flip flops and digging out my sneakers because my feet get too cold. Then there are days where I try to dig out my tank top I thought was safe to put hidden at the bottom of the dresser because it's a bit warm. It's all over the place. Those warm days make for good nap times in the quad in between classes. Those are always nice in the middle of a study session.

I don't think I'll stop getting a kick out of the people on campus. In the quad on one of the days I had to stay late I was witness to a game of red light, green light. Or at least it looked like red light, green light, I don't think that's what she was saying. The people behind the counter that helped me when I got food that day were highly entertaining also. One guy said, "I said no! I said good day sir!" That's so something I'd say. hehehehe. That was after I heard him chanting, "Scotty doesn't know!" while listening to the song of the same name. hehehe. I kept trying not to giggle, but they were being too much.

Ugly Betty is quickly becoming my favorite show. Not only is the lead male very rawr, but the actors are fantabulous! The keep me laughing the entire episode. I still love the novela they have playing in the background! Love it!

Friday was music in the quad. Some band from Orange County came all the way to our little ol' school to play. They were actually pretty decent. What made them better though was they covered a song by the Foo Fighters. How could I not like them after that one?!

Today I caught up on all the tele viewing this morning that I miss out on during the week. After I watch NCIS I get reminded why I love that show. This season is turning out to be one of the best seasons. The humor is great. I also went out to wash the cars. Dad appreciated that I washed his car but did not appreciate the tank top I was wearing. hehehe. He said I need to wear a turtleneck if I'm going to wash the cars. Riiiigggghhht. Good one. And now I sit around bumming because I don't want to do anything. It's nice.

Here's the song recs for this week:

Rooftops (A Liberation Broadcast) by Lostprophets
Brilliant Sky by Saybia
Starts With One by Shiny Toy Guns
X Amount of Words by Blue October
Infra-red by Placebo
Every Time We Live Together by Hooverphonic

Enjoy the music goodness!

I don't really have anything of much importance to say....I could talk about how truckers wave at me while I wait for the bus....or that some people on campus were playing croquet....or some other random crap, but I'm not.
I just really wanted an excuse to use my new shiny icons. hehehehe. I deleted a bunch of the Ouran ones and added some other ones. They're from tele shows with real actors in them. *gasp* Mostly this was inspired by my renewed fascination with Firefly, hence the Jayne main icon. Also, The Office really rocks right now, so they had to have their fair share too.
And, right now, I'm procrastinating because I don't want to do reasearch for my project. ewwww.

This week was a little more enjoyable and had a few more stories than last week did, and that's a good thing.

My highlight of the week came while I strolled out onto the quad after attending mass. I had decided to attend the mass that the Catholic group on campus offered during the week. I'm trying to find way to renew my faith, get me a little more into it. Maybe if I'm around others who believe the same thing I can make it happen. I think what makes this even even more interesting is that it happened right after that. Coming out of the building I noticed the recognizable signs that the Jesus freaks carry. This time there were two of them. Oh, this was going to be interesting. I find their form of preaching rather wrong, but it makes for an interesting show. Some of the things they were saying were pure humor! It wasn't supposed to be funny, but it was. That made the day a good one. hehehehe.

I met someone I can bond with in my Society and Genetics class. That was such a breath of fresh air. In a unending pool of dimwitted freshmen I finally get someone who's had science classes and that thinks the same way I do. It was fate. I love her!

Wednesday was long and not too pleasant. Classes from 11 to 8 and for some reason I found myself running all over campus. I don't even remember why anymore, it must have been mildly important. All I know is that day I just wanted to curl up and go to sleep.

Coming out of class on Thursday I noticed Tracy from my bio classes last semester. *squee* I love her too. She's awesome. We exchanged phone numbers and such so we could keep in touch. It's always nice to have someone familiar on campus.

Just when I thought I was going to have that small moment to propel me into having a nice day overall I come home. That was all I needed to do. Lupe had left some time in the middle of the morning and hadn't come back. Right when I walk through the door I get asked if I can take the kids to soccer practice. I take them but I have to wait there because no one else is there when we arrive. *sigh* She did come home some time that night, but who knows when because I wasn't up. I felt like I was talking to my teen daughter the next morning. I gave her a lecture about being responsible and how what she's doing is not acceptable behavior. Why me? huh?

I already have midterms next week. ewwww. I just started. The following week is more tests. ugh. I should get studying on that one. hehehe.

This week was soundtrack music rec week. Yay! I love soundtracks. Lots of good music (sometimes) all on one album. Here are the songs:

Filter - One
Nine Inch Nails - The Perfect Drug
Yerba Buena - Guarija (I love U 2 Much)
UB40 - Every Breath You Take
Tom G Mac - Cry Little Sister
The Servant - Cells
Massive Attack - I Against I
Mirwais - Disco Science
Filter & The Crystal Method - (Can't You) Trip Like I Do
Drowning Pool feat. Rob Zombie - Man Without Fear

What I did this week....
I love spending time in the quad in between my classes. The little pleasures of life. I get such a kick out of watching people play frisbee. It's so college cliche and reminds me of PCU (it's a movie).

It was my first week of full classes which meant staying there really late two days out of the week. One day had classes cancelled because the hall where my classes are was flooded. Lovely. I didn't have to hang around for a ridiculously long time, but did anyway. The highlight of that day though was seeing the hunky football players coming back from their practice, rawr.

I'm loving my genetics and society class and my ecology class is boring me to tears. My other two classes are enjoyable enough and land somewhere in between.

I went out with Christina on Thursday because this is her last week in town. We spend a nice dinner with her mom just talking. I'm going to miss her a lot, but she's already making plans for me to visit her in Oregon. This just means that I have to harass her over the phone now.

Saturday was a day of doing nothing. I found some fanfics and spent the entire day reading them. Nice I know. Today was a little more productive. I went to church, washed the cars, and watched some NASCAR. Kurt did so well today. Even though I only got to see the last 40 laps it was exciting. I suppose that's how it always is at Talledega.

Now the song recs for the week:

You're Not Here

This is the week in review by Me:

I made a mix for Christina the other week and decided to post the songs that I used

I have had a serious lack of slepp this week. I'll wake up at crazy hours of the night, which is not cool.

Also, I've been jealous that certain people have already seen the premiere of Veronica Mars and I have not. That's lame. I want to see it too. (Yes, I know I sound like a child but I'm fine with that.) My favorite new show is Smith. It's cool, has a great story, really great acting, AND has Simon Baker, who has sexy hair.

I saw something that said that people with more unique names are less successful than people with normal, ordinary names. I say that's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. If it isn't, my brothers and I are kind of screwed, even if we do have really cool names.

I went to see Little Miss Sunshine with Christina when we went out on Wednesday. It's a very good movie and recommend it to anyone. Steve Carrel and the teen boy in it were great in the movie and possibly the best actors. Before the movie Christina and I talked for a while because we got there super early and had to kill some time. We are both in a little denial that she's going to be moving away so soon. It sucks.

I had my first day of class at Davis and really liked it. If someone drops out of the class I get to see someone from City. That made me feel so much better when I saw a familiar face. The classes are so big. I'm not used to that. I rather liked the small classes at city.

I watched Ugly Betty instead of the Office. I couldn't bring myself to change the chanel, it was good. The lead guy on there is a cutie with nice eyes, but he needs to put on some muscle. I did get to watch The Office the other day and it was a great episode, as most of them are.

Today I took Lorena to get a haircut. What should have been maybe a half-hour outing turned into 2 hours. Ugh. Next time she calls and makes an appointment.

She offered to pay for a haircut if I wanted one, but I resisted temptation. I should wait a little longer before cutting it so it comes out the way I want it to.

I've decided to put all my song recs in a nice zip at the end of the week. I've become horrible at updating my LJ, but I still have song recs for every day. Enjoy!

Third Eye Blind - Motorcycle Drive By
Pretty Girls Make Graves - Chemical, Chemical
46bliss - The Way You Are
Steve Conte - No Reply
Steve Comte - Heaven's Not Enough
Limp Bizkit - Behind Blue Eyes
Foo Fighters - Everlong

BONUS
Foo Fighters - Everlong (acoustic)

I also recced Sister Twisted by Kinky, but I don't actually have the song. You can hear it on their myspace page though.

What I did the last half of the week (cliff-notes style....kind of)

I took Orion to the hospital on Tuesday for an appointment. The weekend of whining had come to an end.

I didn't do a song rec on Sunday so decided to recommend more than one song on Wednesday. Tah dah! We have a Stone Temple Pilots extravaganza!

The Office season premire was fantastic! I squeed the entire time. I love Jim!

I learned that the term "shotgun" was first coined in the old west. The person who rode with the driver always carried a shotgun when they transported money for the banks. Hence, riding shotgun.

I had to lecture my sister about telling someone she's going out and asking if they can take care of her children. Some things just don't change. And, I feel like a mom lecturing her rebellious teen. I'm only 22!

Last night we went to a shin dig. Dad took a nap because he's been up too long, is sick, and was drinking. I took a nap because I had to wake up early today to go to Sunday school. We didn't actually leave their house till 3 in the morning. We had a really good time there. At least I thought we did until I learned that my sister couldn't turn off the shameful tendencies till we left and embarassed my dad. I didn't witness "the event" but it was enough to say she's not getting invited out any more with us.

In class a little girl tried to get snotty with me. I put her in her place. That sounds horrible. I have a feeling this year might be a little bumpy in the teaching department. hehehe.

This weekend was long and tiring. Yes, I know it's Wednesday and the weekend officially ended a couple days ago.

Saturday was Ramses' shindig and time to go into Mommy/Host mode. Even though I was sick and barely had enough umph to socialize I still pulled through. I even got some candy from a left over goody bag. Not like that matters, I can always jack my nephews for some. hehehe. The whole thing went really well, really better than anyone expected.

Apparently they told the people coming that it was my birthday too, which means gifts. Some were really nice, like the angel statue my nina gave me. Others were WTF-what-were-they-thinking gifts, like a sequence gold bag.

Sunday was back to Sunday school. It turned out all right even though I could barely speak. I'm already getting a feel for the little buggers. After we went to Denios like the usual. It's nice this year because I get out fairly early so we can do things like this. After Denios and lots of whining from Orion we went to Senor Angel's. I don't think I've ever had a bad time there, it's always nice and relaxing.

I was still recovering from being sick on Monday and didn't do much, not even house work.

Tuesday was spent taking Orion to and waiting for his appointment. He got wicked sick and has two ear infections. I feel so bad for him.

Last week I didn't do any song recs, but I still have the songs! It was Aerosmith week. Instead of putting them up one by one I put it into a neat .zip. It has 12 great Aerosmith classics in all.

Aerosmith goodness

I've gotten behind this week on the song recs but here they are so far...

I asked Dad for one thing this year for my birthday, spaghetti. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but when it takes almost an entire day to make and is made from scratch then it's the most fantabulous thing you've ever tasted. I don't exaggerate either. He wasn't here last night because he had to drive to L.A. Stinky.

I had made plans earlier in the week to spend some time with Christina. She picked me up early to go for breakfast, but I forogt she wasn't really a breakfast person. After wasting a significant amount of time to find a place that was open we ended up getting fish and chips and heading back to her house to watch a movie.

We weren't originally planning on spending the entire day together but circumstances let us. We picked up her mom later on from the airport. We planned at that time to catch a movie and have dinner. We did dinner at Outback's but not the movie. We had a nice dinner and a few drinks and a really good time. I really love her and her mom, they are awesome. The waitress was really nice too because she noticed it was my birthday and gave me some ice cream after dinner. It was so cute.

After dinner we went back to the house to have a drink and veg out some more. It was a really nice night.

Last night I went out with Jen and Miguel for my birthday. It was an okay night. Jen and I went on a marathon around town trying to find a top for the night's events. We did not succeed. Two malls and no shirt found. I think that's stinky and shouldn't happen, but that's just my opinion. We had reservations at Buca di Beppo's for dinner and that turned out to be lots of good fun.If there is anything worse than being sick is being sick and having to yell at children. I had to give Angel a big lecture about wearing soccer shorts that were clean even if they weren't his. He has been whining this entire morning for seemingly very little reason. I've already been feeling like crap this morning. Then having to have a small burst of energy to scold him just took lots out of me. I still have to call kids today to tell them about class tomorrow. ugh. I don't want to. I should really get on that.

I would like to thank our waiter, Chris. I doubt we would have had such a good time if he wasn't there. He was just ten kinds of awesome. Jen had started drawing a picture of a turkey, first grade style. The one where you trace your hand. The waiter comes back and starts drawing some of his own stuff. (You can see a sample here). He was such a dork, I wanted to squish him.

After dinner we waited at her place till the clubs opened. We went to Avalon, as we usually do. The place wasn't that great that night so we left and tried to go to go to some joint that had just opened, but the line was uber long. I suggested we go to a bar, have a drink and call it a night, but we continued searching downtown and other areas for a club to go to. I couldn't think of one we would all enjoy so we ended the night early. If there is anything worse than being sick is being sick and having to yell at children.

I didn't feel too bad last night healthwise, but I feel like crap today. My throat is sore and I'm losing my voice. I just want to curl up and go to sleep. I hope other people are having a better time than I am today! Have a nice weekend

This is what I've been doing the past week....(it's not really much. it's actually kind of boring)

Got upset Wednesday because they eliminated Ryan Star the week before from Rock Star: Supernova. Blasphemy! They just wanted two chicks in the finale when one completely does not deserve to be there.

Thursday: Excited because Pittsburgh won! yay! Go Polamalu..... (I love his hair)

I went out with Jen on Friday. We started by going to dinner. Good food. On the way home we decided that we wanted to go dancing and so we did. We didn't spend too much time there. After we went to a sports bar for a drink with Miguel.

And now for the weekend "highlights" :

This weekend was a rockin' weekend for sports. First off was NASCAR at Richmond on Saturday. Kevin Harvick won. Kyle Busch got second. There was a really good battle at the end, but Kyle just couldn't do it. *pouts* Kurt Busch did poorly. *shakes fist* Kasey Kahne is in the Chase, Stewart is out. The end.

Where, might you ask, is the other Busch brother? Well, his last two races completely eliminated him from the chase. *pouts* So even a good finish here wouldn't have done much for him. Too bad he didn't even finish well. He was running in the bottom half of the pack the entire time. I hold that if I were to ever meet him I would squee, say lots of OMGIloveyoukurtbusch!, then kick him in the shins for the not so great performance this season. He seemed to be rallying back mid season before he dropped off in some really unfortunate accidents. We'll have to wait till next year for another chance at the Chase.

Also this weekend was football! We watched the Bronocs-Rams game. Rams won with a ridiculous amount of field goals and good defense. We got home in time from Denios to watch the Manning vs. Manning game. I still say that Eli Manning is overrated, but that's just my opinion. On both teams I like a player, for superficial and actual athletic reasons. Broncos have John Lynch. He's good looking and is a good safety. Jeremy Shockey of the Giants is good looking and is a great tight end. See, I can watch sports, appreciate the game and still enjoy the player goodness.

A day at Denios was a little tense. Apparently the night before Dad made a little boo boo with Lorena and we had to sit through the aftermath. I had one bone to pick about her silent treatment though. I understand being upset with someone for doing something, but that doesn't mean that you stop doing things that you would normally do that the person still needs to go on, such as food. She didn't bother making anything for Dad, that's just childish to me. She could make something for him still. It could not taste good or she could serve it to him in a bitchy manner, but she needs to do what she claims she wants to do still, which is take care of him.

Saturday I was supposed to go to some deal for church and I didn't. I didn't really plan on going, but I should have at least tried. Sunday, I forgot that there was a mass I should have attended. That one was definitely not intentional. For some reason I thought there was still one more week. I rarely go to those shindigs anyway. I think they would be used to me not going by now.

I got the list for my class today for Sunday school. This now means that I have to call them up and remind them that sunday school starts this Sunday, what class we're in, etc. I hate it. I am not very comfortable with speaking spanish and that's the main language of the people I have to call. They take pity on me though, so it really isn't that bad.

I have another theme for this week! It's Aeromsith. I love this band. They come in a close second to the Foo Fighters as my favorite band.
Yesterday I reced Amazing and Sweet Emotion. Today I rec Blind Man and Voodoo Medicine Man. Enjoy the music goodness!

Amazing (Get a Grip)
Sweet Emotion (In the Attic
)
Blind Man (Big Ones)
Voodoo Medicine Man (Pump
)

Here's a little cut and paste of what I've been doing the past few days...

I got into a bit of a "discussion" with Ray on the phone about Santiago that I never got to finish. He never let me finish, he kept hanging up! Maybe I was being too long winded..................Nope, he's just really immature.

Most of my days thus far have been lounging around. That's when I'm not cleaning at least.

The kids are going to be the death of me if they don't go back to school soon. I need to go back to school too. At least I'll have Sunday school to take up some of my time.

I got to meet who I'll be "working" with on Sundays. She seems like a sweet person. It'd be good to get to know her.

I drove by myself to get to church. I took a long and convoluted way just so I wouldn't have to go on the freeway. The drive could have gone better, but not too shabby. No. I don't have my license yet. Dad wasn't here to take me, I had to get there somehow.

I have song recs from the past two days! Yay!
The first is Have You Got In You? by Imogen Heap. I really love her singing. I like almost anything she does. The second is Easy by Morningwood. It's just fun music to bounce around the house to. Did that last comment sound a little werid?

Blade is on right now....I think. I'm debating about going to watch it or bumming around in here. Hmmmmmm, the dilemmas.

what i did this weekend...

Sunday started with a drive in the morning, Dad insisted we go on the freeway. It wasn't too bad, but the end made me nervous and I couldn't shake it off for the rest of the ride. Oh well. I'll get better with more practice.

Reason #106,749 of "Why I Love My Dad"....
Yesterday while we were getting ready Dad had asked me if the kids were getting picked up. I didn't know because they didn't know. Dad didn't like to hear that when they called Ray was too busy to answer them because he was sleeping, so Dad decided to call him. Dad told him how it was, Ray needed to pick up the kids so he can spend time with them. He's their father and it's about time he starts acting like one. There is nothing more important than spending time with his children and trying to raise them right, because what they're doing now is not "raising them right."
*Sigh* I love it.

Sad part to that story is that Ray didn't see it important enough to spend time with his children and never came. He just ignored their phone calls.

We decided to go out to Denios for the afternoon. Orion picked up lots of toys! Dad found a small carry-on bag full of hotwheels which he bought for 3 bucks.I already snagged a few toys that I liked. Hey! There was a number 2 car in there that I just had to have. He found some of the ones I tried to stash so he took them back. hehehehe.

We spent the rest of the night at Senor Angel's house. I can never get tired of hearing the men talk. I think it's fabulous where their conversations go.

I can't wait to go camping this weekend. Dad has Friday off so we might be going earlier than usual. Even if it's not Friday we'll still be going early because we most likely will be ready on Friday to go early on Saturday. Yay! I can't wait!

Today's song rec is Rasputin by Boney M. Boney M. is a disco-pop group. I first heard their song on a fanmix about.....I don't remember, but included a lot of caberet sounding music and this. I actually really like this song because of how up-beat it is. I thought it was a good way to start off the week. Here's a video of the song, which I was really surprised to find since first it was a song from before mTV and I really didn't think that many people had heard it. Just shows how wrong I was. Enjoy the music goodness.

Today's song rec is Oh My by Saint Etienne. I suppose I never really thought about how much I really like the 80s, but now that I've been going through my music I can see it oh so clearly. This sounds like it came stragiht from the 80s instead of it having come out last year. Oy. Hope you enjoy the music goodness.

Oh My by Saint Etienne

Finished watching the lastest episode of Blade. Good background story for Marcus, but I did not see the end part coming. At all. I wonder how that's going to turn out.

NASCAR is on tonight! Yay! Night race at Bristol, oh yeah. Kurt Busch got the pole. Kenseth is looking like a favorite. Apparently he grew up racing on short tracks. Well, Kurt has won 5 times at this particular track, so there! (That didn't sound like a 5 year old at all.) Some of the favorites are Kurt, Kenseth, Jeff Gordon, and Harvick. I'm so excited. NASCAR always makes me giddy.

I never thought I'd say it, but I miss housework. It kept me busy. Since one of the young'uns is in trouble and he was given housework to do as punishment I have nothing to do. I need something to do! School needs to start soon. I'll complain about school when that comes around, but I need something to take up my time.

We have song recs and more than one of them today. I forgot about them yesterday. It seems that now that I don't have much to do I forget about things that I normally did. I need a routine! I'm all off kilter!
Ok, enough dramatics, here are the recs....

Destry Everything You Touch by Ladytron
Opheliac by Emilie Autumn
and
Black Sheep by Sneaker Pimps

Kind of a warning: Opheliac is kind of on crack, and not really in a good way in some parts of the song.

I uploaded a new mood theme. it's Ouran! I'm so excited. I might actually use the moods, usually I'm too lazy to do that too. hehehe.

Oh! And in another list of random things, here's an article adressing Carl Edwards behavior in the past weeks. All I have to say is, "Go Carl!"
